SERNUE began with something personal.
My partner works night shifts, which means that while much of the world is awake, she’s trying to get the rest she needs.
She went looking for silk eye masks and pillowcases — something gentle against her skin, comfortable enough for daytime sleep, and kind to her hair while she rested.
But what she found wasn’t quite what she was looking for. Products advertised as silk turned out to be blends of polyester and silk, rather than the genuine quality she had hoped for.
That experience sparked an idea.
Why should finding genuine, high-quality silk essentials be so difficult?
Around the same time, I noticed something similar with my brother, who also works shifts. I never imagined he’d be someone looking for silk eye masks, but to my surprise, he already owned several and was still searching for something better.
It made me realise that the need for comfort, softness and quality rest isn’t limited to any one person or lifestyle.
Whether you’re a nurse finishing a long night shift, someone working unpredictable hours, or simply someone who values a more comfortable night’s sleep, we all deserve to rest well.
